Happy New Year Everybody.

Hello dear readers,
I would like to wish you all a great prosperous, healthy and extremely Happy New Year.

I have been slipping under the radar lately, not getting on here as often as I like but !!!
I do miss connecting with my blogger friends but I am hopeful to be on here more often as things have quietened down a bit so I should have more time to myself.
I am back to keeping my projects moving and keeping my sewing incorporated in my daily life. "mostly".
I did manage to finish a quilt I was doing for my 5year old  Grandaughter  to put under the tree with her Christmas presents.

The panel I used.
Some of the blocks.

All finished.

Back quilting.

It is a pretty quilt with the fairy fabric and Elsie (5years) loved it so that was the main thing. Elsie is  starting school in the new Year.

Elsie the youngest of my 8 Grandchildren.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are happy and well.
It is New Years eve and I am about to watch the Fireworks at 12 o'clock and welcome in the New Year.

Treasures and Creations.

Hello All, Christmas greetings.
Christmas celebrations are in full swing with a few outings happening. The lead up to Christmas  is fun meeting up with friends that you don't see all the time. It is a lovely time of the year and impossible not to be absorbed in the Christmas feeling.
My  Tuesday quilting group have come  together  with the other day's quilting ladies for the end of year Christmas Party and holiday break till New Year. I think there was around 60 ladies there.
Everyone enjoyed the 'show and tell' of their quilt journey this year with some good stories about the quilts on show.
 I have some to share.

The story on this quilt with all the fussy cutting and measuring was that it was  really hard to piece together.
The word nightmare was mentioned !!  Love the little bird and his beak singing a song.

Enjoying the quilt show.

Love this Christmas runner .The beautiful  embelishments don't all show in the photo . The baubles in the border are all needle turned and it was a couple of years to get finished amongst other projects.

Must be talking about future projects. We all had a most enjoyable day and lovely Secret Santa gifts were handed around.

It was a inspiring display of quilts ,there is more I will show next time.
Also I will have my granddaughter's quilt finished for Christmas as I am hand sewing the binding now and will post next time.
Hope you all had a great week and are happy and well.

Heatwave coming !!

Hello everyone,
I miss being on here more often but have family duties as a carer lately to my brother. It is very time consuming and worrying at times, but that is what family is for when help is needed.
Life is full of surprises.
I have had a few projects on the go and have been sewing the blocks for my 5yr old Grandaughter's quilt and only have 2 borders to add and the top will be finished. I would like to quilt and bind it before Christmas. I will show it next post. It is really pretty.
Today I can showcase a beautiful quilt that Lee from my sewing group has finished. Lee is our leader and teaches us the tricks of the trade.

Lee has sewed some lovely applique and embroideries making her quilt absolutely adorable .

Her skills and experience show in this beautiful quilt.

Another class group like our group, is led by Lee and everyone from the that class has made a block for this beautiful quilt and tickets are for sale and the money made will be donated to charity.  The quilt tickets usually bring in one to two thousand dollars .

This charity quilt is gorgeous and very impressive with the talent and skill by the quilting ladies.
Love this cross stitch.

My class group have a charity quilt nearly finished, waiting to be quilted and should be ready early in the New Year for selling the tickets.
Something has been wrong with Blogger this week and I couldn't upload my photos to the blog post for 5 days. Usually Blogger sees to these problems as quick as they can and all is fixed today.
We are waiting for a heat wave with some places heating up .
Western Australia had a very hot one with a 41C  . Also had bush fires with 4 people losing their life. Very sad.
On the East coast for me we are expecting high 30'sC . Our nation is very dry right now and it is still Spring!!!
Bye for now .
Happy sewing.

Happy Halloween to those who Celebrate .

Hello Everybody,
Calling in to say hello to you all ,I have missed seeing what is happening on here due to the fact that I have been away for a few weeks travelling with our caravan up the north coast taking with me some craft to pass the time and enjoying the getaway. The internet was not very good and used my usage so only did the emails this time.
This is where I find my inspiration on here so I am looking at every ones treasures and creations, and all the new projects that have been posted.
I really want to be sitting at my Janome so !!
. I am pretending that my  ironing basket is not full of  washing from being away. Oh well!!

Happy Halloween !!
28 neighbourhood children visited for Trick or Treat this late afternoon.  It  was good seeing them call in having some fun.

In our Caravan while away I did manage to put together some blocks for Elsie's quilt .My 5 yr old granddaughter. Not a lot of space in our van. I have half of he blocks finished and have  chosen  fabric for the borders . I am aiming  at  Christmas for a finish.
I also did some work on a cross stitch which I haven't tried to sew before and really enjoyed my time on it.

Helen from sewing is making this happy bright quilt for a little person.

Thank you for calling in.

These next 2 quilts are original Art Quilts by Trish Smith and she achieved some Awards with the showing of them .

Some Crochet art for the crochet lovers. I would love to be able to crochet, it looks fabulous so creative..
I am a knitter and there is not much of that happening either at the moment.
My brother is suffering from Dementa and I have been taking him to be assessed and other appointments but in 2 weeks we should know his needs and all the running around will be finished and I look forward to the time for my sewing again.
