From My Happy Places.

 Hello ,Everybody.

The days and weeks are flying by ,Spring is nearly over and I look forward to the Summer weather .

To be able to go for walks around the lake . Go to the beach for a swim in the surf. I'm lucky with these close by.  The Jacaranda trees are flowering into bloom dropping their carpet of purple flowers are so pretty this time of  the year. When it will be  too hot to be outside in the garden the  television will go on and I will watch the Aussies play cricket.

Something exciting for me . My first wedding for one of my 9 grandchildren to be married at the end of this month to attend .I am so looking forward to this.

The beauty of these Jacaranda trees, I took these photos from Pinterest .Have lovely memories from walking along under the Jacaranda tunnel of trees.

Lake Macquarie 2 mins drive from me .I don't walk there as it is down a big hill. 😀It has a walking track around the Lake. It is Australia's largest coastal salt water lake.

Nobbys beach one of the beaches near me. The harbour entrance is behind the lookout .

This beautiful charming quilt ,so stunning made by my sewing group leader . Lee Noble.

I finished this baby quilt for a 2 year old boy, Nixon for a picnic blanket or play mat .

Coffee can sharpen your vocabulary they say !!!

This is my jigsaw helper Chloe ,has to be in  everything I do . My little girl.

I have been catching up on a few projects to get them finished .So was happy about that ,still have a few more yet .
Thank you for calling in .
Stay safe and well ,Happy sewing.

Where is the Spring sunshine ?

 Hello Everybody,

Spring sunshine needed . It goes without saying that this year so far has been a hard or unusual year but we can finally see the end of the tunnel and getting rid of those negative mindsets that come and go during Covid.19.  Happy to say no local cases for the last days and month, some states longer here in Australia.

I have been thinking about my blogging friends in the different countries in our digital world. At least the togetherness comes through our blogging. Friendship doesn't end with distance or daily conversations.

We in Australia are having big Thunderstorms and rain events from the top end of Australia down to the Gulf , extreme weather . Rain is needed for the places in drought but not hail and floods for the farmers and the crops.

A good week for quilting and other projects.

I have a quilt on the design wall that I hope to have the top finished tomorrow.
I had a break from quilting and made some clothes for my great grandaughter Ella. Haven' made childrens clothes for 50 years. 😃

Val  from quilting group has nearly finished this amazing quilt of the sun setting on the horizon .I can't
wait to see it finished being quilted with movement in the water. Beautiful .

Here is miss Ella My great grandaughter who is 2 yrs now looking  beautiful after drawing on her face with texta !!!

My love 3yrs have gone by now .

Happy quilting , hope you are staying safe and well.
Thank you for your time.

The Australian wattle is starting to come into flower.

 Hello Everyone ,

Nearly Spring here down under. Will be glad to greet some warmer weather.

Was happy to see the Wattle come into flower.

Australia's National Floral Emblem. Wattle Day 1st September it generally relates to Spring. It is a symbol of Australia and Australians.

The whales are migrating too . 45 species of whales can be found. Most commonly seen here are the Humpbacks and Southern right whales, they like the warm tropical waters of the Pacific and return to Antarctica in the Spring.

Our beautiful birds are nesting and laying their eggs as it gets warmer .I have some swooping birds in the gum trees opposite me but I think they are used to me. The plovers and magpies don't swoop me when I go out in the garden and weed the lawn.

I look foreward to our Spring and Summer months to enjoy some sunshine and warmer days.

Our beautiful wattle.

A Rosella parrot.
Beautiful applique.

My sewing friend Lynn has been working on these two quilts .They are beautiful and soon will have a finish which I am looking forward to seeing

Our way of life in Australia has changed dramatically in our daily lives, changeing the way we live. To be safe we have to act in a different way to stay healthy and limit our exposure.
Surely soon things will be different we have to protect ourselves and others.
Stay happy and well .

June to August our Winter months .

Hello everyone, I hope this post finds eveyone Happy and Well .
The month of July is our coldest month, Australias  climate varies due to the size of the big  island we are. Australias red centre have warmer days .I'm on the central east coast of Australia .Further north is warmer more tropical and down south from me colder and Tasmania the coolest temperatures get the winds from the Antarctic for winter.
I miss this year going to the Australian Alps to go to the winter  snow fields, my annual holiday period. I love when it snows. Due to Covid 19 so many restrictions and rules to follow there and safer to stay home. I haven't been out for months, I just stay home .Our way of life has changed dramatically. I think we all face a new normal life in Australia than the life as we knew it.

This year I have missed going to the beach  doing my whale watching ,having my coffee mornings there , watching the surf roll in, my beach fishing, just enjoying our famous laid back lifestyle that Australia has to offer.

One positive thing is that I have been catching up and enjoying my quilting time .I have a few quilts waiting to have the quilting done , some bindings to be put on and tops sandwiched together.

The ladies from my quilting group have been making quilts for charity. These have been made for the women's refuge for the mothers and children leaving  the home escaping from domestic violence.

Glenda has been making the charity quilts.
Here are my dear friends Lynne and Glenda We have been quilting together one day a  week for 18 years.

The quilts they are making for charity.

Lynne made these happy bright child quilts and started a Wonky Donky baby quilt .

This is my Stack and Wack or One block wonder. I'm not sure which is the correct title. !!
Now just the backing binding and quilting .

Eventually hung my quilt on the wall .I used some of the Japenese fabrics.

My dear grandaughter , Elsie's 10th Birthday
Loves her horse riding .
Slowly cathing up on the UFO's .
Stay safe and well.
