The Australian wattle is starting to come into flower.

 Hello Everyone ,

Nearly Spring here down under. Will be glad to greet some warmer weather.

Was happy to see the Wattle come into flower.

Australia's National Floral Emblem. Wattle Day 1st September it generally relates to Spring. It is a symbol of Australia and Australians.

The whales are migrating too . 45 species of whales can be found. Most commonly seen here are the Humpbacks and Southern right whales, they like the warm tropical waters of the Pacific and return to Antarctica in the Spring.

Our beautiful birds are nesting and laying their eggs as it gets warmer .I have some swooping birds in the gum trees opposite me but I think they are used to me. The plovers and magpies don't swoop me when I go out in the garden and weed the lawn.

I look foreward to our Spring and Summer months to enjoy some sunshine and warmer days.

Our beautiful wattle.

A Rosella parrot.
Beautiful applique.

My sewing friend Lynn has been working on these two quilts .They are beautiful and soon will have a finish which I am looking forward to seeing

Our way of life in Australia has changed dramatically in our daily lives, changeing the way we live. To be safe we have to act in a different way to stay healthy and limit our exposure.
Surely soon things will be different we have to protect ourselves and others.
Stay happy and well .

June to August our Winter months .

Hello everyone, I hope this post finds eveyone Happy and Well .
The month of July is our coldest month, Australias  climate varies due to the size of the big  island we are. Australias red centre have warmer days .I'm on the central east coast of Australia .Further north is warmer more tropical and down south from me colder and Tasmania the coolest temperatures get the winds from the Antarctic for winter.
I miss this year going to the Australian Alps to go to the winter  snow fields, my annual holiday period. I love when it snows. Due to Covid 19 so many restrictions and rules to follow there and safer to stay home. I haven't been out for months, I just stay home .Our way of life has changed dramatically. I think we all face a new normal life in Australia than the life as we knew it.

This year I have missed going to the beach  doing my whale watching ,having my coffee mornings there , watching the surf roll in, my beach fishing, just enjoying our famous laid back lifestyle that Australia has to offer.

One positive thing is that I have been catching up and enjoying my quilting time .I have a few quilts waiting to have the quilting done , some bindings to be put on and tops sandwiched together.

The ladies from my quilting group have been making quilts for charity. These have been made for the women's refuge for the mothers and children leaving  the home escaping from domestic violence.

Glenda has been making the charity quilts.
Here are my dear friends Lynne and Glenda We have been quilting together one day a  week for 18 years.

The quilts they are making for charity.

Lynne made these happy bright child quilts and started a Wonky Donky baby quilt .

This is my Stack and Wack or One block wonder. I'm not sure which is the correct title. !!
Now just the backing binding and quilting .

Eventually hung my quilt on the wall .I used some of the Japenese fabrics.

My dear grandaughter , Elsie's 10th Birthday
Loves her horse riding .
Slowly cathing up on the UFO's .
Stay safe and well.

Isolation projects and how I am keeping myself amused staying at home.

Hello everybody .
Hoping to find everyone happy and well .
All is good at my house and Winter is here in Australia. We are getting a lot much needed rain bringing some respite.. We really needed it in our Australian summer as drought and fires here were catastrophic. lots of communities have been seriously  affected .Now these families have to face Covid19 after all they have just been through. When I think about all the suffering some people have to face through no fault of their own and the hardships they have been facing.
On reflection of this I count my blessings on the amount of reasons that give me a happy life.
I am happy that soon relief is coming in the near future and maybe a normal way of life can resume again.

The bush from my front door is looking lovely and refreshed from the rain .
Have enjoyed my crosswords and jigsaws, catching up with my knitting, reading, cooking ,a little bit too much cooking, weeding the garden when weather permits. All these projects have kept me busy and having some fun during lockdown .

Have been busy quilting and seeing to the UFO's that have been hiding in  my cupboards

One of the beautiful birds that visit to the bush .King Parrot with his lovely red belly and green back, wings and tail. My favourite bird ,love seeing them out from my front door.

The ladies from my sewing group have been busy doing childrens quilts for the Womens Refuge for  the mothers and children escaping domestic violence.

Lovely happy bright fabrics for  the children

Stay safe everyone and look forward to some sort of normal again looks likely our State and Territory borders here will be opening soon and can then focus on business and peoples  jobs and stop some of the hurt and stress people are feeling.
Stay Happy and well ,Thanks for calling in to my blog.
