Winter and cosy Quilts.

Hello everyone,
Winter is here in Australia and it is an amazing time of year.  June ,July and August and along comes snow in some parts down south in Australia and our nights can be cold and in the mornings the fog rolls in and there is a slight nip in the air.
Australia's National flower emblem, the Golden Wattle trees come into flower displaying the National colours.
In the cold grey days what better time to quilt and knit  and let the winter evening close in . A journey of delights during those cold winter days.
I love to visit  the Blue Mountains in winter a World Heritage area (2 hours from us.) One million hectares of tall forests, sandstone cliffs, waterfalls and bush land. Can snow sometimes there. I look foreward for a few days soon to visit again.

I also love visiting the mountain villages dotted along the way to explore.

Wattle flower.
This week at sewing class there was a few quilt finishes showcased.

I must share the quilt that Sue made .She is so creative and talented .A beautiful quilt.

I think Sue's quilt is amazing!!
I also finished the quilt for my Grandaughter Shaylah 7yrs .I was very happy that she loved the quilt.

Shaylah snuggled in her quilt.

The snow fields in Australia are getting their snow now. Lets hope it is a busy season for that area.

Happy sewing everyone,
Stay Happy and Well,
Jen x

The Blue Mountains was a favourite haunt of mine in my younger days and these photos bring back good memories. Love those quilts. Take care.

Your little Shaylah is precious! The quilt is so feminine and pretty! What a nice feeling to have it completed!
It's fun seeing your snow. In our corner of the world we just had our first 90 degree day and it was humid. Just seems strange to have June, July and August associated with snow! And the reverse for you!

so enjoyed seeing the pics of the Blue Mountains, had a lovely visit to them back in 1996.
Your granddaughter looks warm and snug in her lovely quilt. Wondering where in Aus the snow is falling, surely that is unusual, I lived in Melbourne for a while and we did not have any whilst I was there thankgoodness

The quilts look beautiful & so does your wee grand daughter snuggled in hers.
It's cold here also although mild mostly this year. I do miss home in winter and seeing the wattle blossom.
