AWOL.

Hello Everyone,
I hope this post finds you happy and well.
I have been absent without leave on here but it has  been full on every day elsewhere. I have had lots of visitors the last 6 weeks which was lovely and lots of  fun.
I did plan to get some batting and quilting and a few quilts from the UFO list finished , but!!!!  It didn't happen.  Not much sewing done so they are still waiting for me.
I have been getting some projects ready for when our sewing group starts back together on the 3rd February gathering some fabrics together.. Also I did  a practice block for the English Paper Piecing class I will be starting. I have never used that method ever before  and really enjoyed it. So I am looking forward to starting the quilt..
With the school holidays here I have had my sewing room taken over by my teenage grandchildren . 4  of them live around the corner from me and are always calling in and on my computer and looking in the fridge and pantry to see what they can find. I do love them coming I always have some baking done.  4 of them are bigger than me now but I still have 4 little cute ones.

Kristy Caleb and Jacob. Little Hugh is a cousin.

My friend Robyn called in with  her quilt to show me .It is beautiful and her embroideries are lovely.

I just love the fabric colours.
I also love these Christmas pot holders that Gudrun sent to me.Thank you kindly Gudrun. Hej ka"ra Gudrun xx

These are the fabric and colours I am going to use for my next quilt .

This panel below I am going to cut and strip and border using the red blue and black fabric for a knee quilt.

My first practice of the quick strip paper piecing technique .I just used some left over fabric for this block as  a practice to get an idea where to place my colours for the pinwheel effect. I will be using the 6 fabrics above.
I will be heading off soon in the caravan  for a break and will take my sewing machine and will also be doing this. It is still very hot here 30C plus and summer still has 5 weeks to run. In central Australia it has been 46C often.

Enjoy your coming weekend  blogging friends .Until next time .
Jen x
